    Colposcopy is a diagnostic procedure done to cioaely examine your cervix, vagina, and vulva. For this procedure, the doctor uses a magnifying instrument called a colposcope. It is done to look for any signs of disease or to find cancerous cells or abnormal cells. A colposcopy can also be used for other health conditions such as polyps (non-cancerous growths) or genital warts. You may need to undergo this procedure if your Pap results are abnormal, your cervix looks abnormal during a pelvic exam, unexplained bleeding, and other health problems.
